Is there any workflow activity(s) that allows you to switch template for a document while copying data of the old template to the new template?

Our HR department like to restructure their LF volume, which will involve consolidate a few document types into one as well as separate a single document type into 2. All these require to re-assign document template to tons of documents which is impossible to do manually.

I would love to have some suggestions of what is the best way to achieve this. Thanks!

Hi Ying,

Yes this could be accomplished with a combination of the Retrieve Field Values and Assign Field Values activities.

Use the Retrieve Field Values activity to grab all of the field values of the old template, then use the Assign Field Values to:

1. Assign the new template

2. Assign field values gathered from the Retrieve Field Values activity to the new template's fields
