Unable to connect to "Inbox Folder" for Forms Email Approval setup

asked on October 10, 2017 Show version history

Hi guys,

I'm trying to connect to a mailbox subfolder on Exchange 2013 that has been set up for Email Approval.  IMAP is running on the server and I can connect to the mail file's "Inbox" successfully when I use "Test Connection", but get a folder "doesn't exist" error whenever I try Test Connection on any folder that isn't a default system folder.  I've tried with folders at root level as well as subfolders in Inbox but nothing seems to work.  Permissions and "Folder Visible" settings on the subfolder are all in place.  What is the correct syntax for identifying the subfolder please, or is there something else that's required to get this to work?

Thanks,

Mike

In case anyone else encounters this, I raised a ticket and there's a known bug, ID 50175, where the direct approval functionality fails if the user account in the Forms Config settings does not match the approval mailbox.  The "Test Connection" functionality checks the mailbox of the user account, not the mailbox specified.  In our case, the approval mailbox was a shared mailbox and the user account was a Domain service account with a separate mailbox for system alerts.
