Web Client - Set default repository per user

asked on October 9, 2017

Hello, we're wondering if there's a way to specify a default web access repository on a per user basis?

We have a client who uses windows authentication for their web client but they have 3 repositories and not all users have access to every repository.  They also direct all users to a company landing page which houses the Web Client basic URL (https://servername/laserfiche) and this is where ALL users would access the Web Client.  They're running into problems however when someone who only has access to Repository 2 is  being defaulted to Repository 1.  I know you can change the MASTER default to whichever repository but we would then have the same issue for users who only have access to repository 1.  I also know you can specify in the URL repo=Repository(1-3) and the link would take them directly in but since they direct all users to the company landing page, they can't accomplish this without adding 2 more additional URL to the landing page.  They just upgraded to version 10.2 today.

So best options here would be to either have a way to assign default repository per user or have a Web Client landing page similar to the Desktop client that shows all repositories and the user would then select which repository to log into and check Windows Authentication.

Anyone know if this is possible?  Or of a workaround?

Yea we did although depending on circumstances it may not work for everyone.  If you look at the Web Client URL it specifies a repository after 'repo='.  If you input a different repository into that spot and save that URL as a shortcut to users desktop, it should open up that repository instead of what is set as default in the Web Client Config page.  So we just instructed each user to create a new shortcut, paste the machine URL which we provided and then had each repository name listed and they just copy pasted the repository they wanted default into the spot then saved the shortcut.

Hope this helps!

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? We are also coming across this issue.

It would be nice to have a "landing page" option within the LF config where you could select the repository.
