Question

Conditional Workflow Using RuleName

asked on October 5, 2017

Hi,

I have a conditional workflow that is used by two rules. I want to use a conditional construct within the workflow to customize it, depending on what rule triggered it in the first place. I have seen a couple of Laserfiche answers that make reference to  using %(RuleName) and this does work. Unfortunately using this variable means that your workflow doesn't publish cleanly and you have to 'publish it anyway' every time.

Is this the only way to extract the 'rulename' that triggered the workflow and if so, I take it that having to 'publish it anyway' is not going to have a detrimental  effect later on.

I'm currently using Rio 10.2

Thanks

%(rulename) is a legitimate token. The warning only comes up because it's not one of the tokens exposed by default in the Designer. There are no plans to deprecate that token, so using it is fine.

Once we expose it as a token, the warnings you see when publishing will disappear.
