ERROR connecting to AS400 system/ IBM i series

asked on October 4, 2017

Hello, I have a client that we are trying to connect to their AS400/ IBM i series database for lockups. Their IT setup the ODBC drivers and I was able to make it a data source in WF. When I test it, this is what I'm getting;

ERROR [42000] [IBM][System i Access ODBC Driver][DB2 for i5/OS]PWS0009 - 1 server attribute value(s) cannot be set.
ERROR [42000] [IBM][System i Access ODBC Driver][DB2 for i5/OS]PWS0009 - 1 server attribute value(s) cannot be set.
---Stack Trace---

   at Laserfiche.Workflow.WorkflowAsyncOperation.End()
   at Laserfiche.Workflow.UI.Internal.DataSourceManagerDialogImpl.HandleTestClicked(Object sender, EventArgs e)

I'm asking thier IT for help but I wanted to see if anyone else has had success connecting to AS400 directly or have seen this error in other situations. Thanks.

Hello,

Check the setting of your ODBC connection on a 64-bit platform.
You have C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe and also
C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe

Now if your Laserfiche server uses SQL Server you can implement the linked server that works perfectly.
