Question

Error Code: 0 MAPI_E_FAILURE

asked on October 4, 2017

I have a customer that when emailing from the LF client was getting:

Error Code: 6000
Error Message: Error loading type library/DLL.
Error loading type library/DLL.   [6000:0x80029c4a] (Error loading type library/DLL.  )

They then followed the instructions from KB: 1012526 and now they are getting:

Error Code: 0

Error Message: MAPI_E_FAILURE

Any ideas on how to resolve the emailling from Laserfiche issue?

In Casey's case, the problem was with the Office/Outlook installation.  MSMapi32.dll was not present locally. Installing Office 365 locally resolved this.

Are they using Outlook x64? The 10.2 client is only compatible with win32 Outlook, but this limitation will be fixed for 10.3

Thanks for the response Robert.

They are on Outlook 2003, so it is definitely x86 (32 bit).  Any other thoughts/ideas?

Does it work outside of the LF client on that machine? Using windows explorer, right click on any file and select "Send to mail recipient". Are they then able to send that file?

I posted  more details that I thought was flagged incorrectly as a duplicate post. We are using outlook 2003 (32bit) and we are still getting the MAPI_E_FAILURE after following the steps in the KB.  I setup an identical computer (Same model PC, same OS, and the same program installs) and I can email out of laserfiche just fine.  (side note she can send to mail recipient outside of laserfiche but not inside of it).

Hello,

Has this been fixed in 10.3? I tried emailing and attachment from 64bit Office 2016 to 10.3 and received this error.

The 10.3 client supports reading emails and attachments from 64 bit outlook (this is new). Sending email through 64 bit outlook has been supported for a while, it uses the Outlook API by default (not MAPI). Please open a case with support so we can troubleshoot the issue.

In 10.3, as Robbie says "The 10.3 client supports reading emails and attachments from 64 bit outlook (this is new). Sending email through 64 bit outlook has been supported for a while, it uses the Outlook API by default (not MAPI).

Please open a case with support so we can troubleshoot the issue."
