Looking for clarification on how to set up a report in Forms

So I am working with a client who has a Form they are building and they are wanting to have a report breaking down some information from the tables on the form. 
There is a table where they pick Project and fill in hours worked.

They want the report to be grouped by project choice (from the drop-down list) and the table inside the report to be broken down by this choice also. But it's not doing that - it is grouping them all together and not allowing us the choice of grouping by project at all.

and the variable seems to be just for the table only (not the choice made) so I am not sure what we can do to accomplish what they want.

Any help or guidance is appreciated.

Hi Valerie,

The report is calculated based on instances. In your case you would like to break one instance into smaller pieces and this is currently not possible.
