Forms and Braintree - User Experiences and Gotcha ?

Hi,

Trying to get some feedback with regards to using Braintree and LF Forms, user experiences and gotchas etc. we are trying to evaluate if signing up with Braintree for us to accept credit cards for certain programs is well worth the time and money. We want to use LF forms to be able to accept Credit Card payments in some shape and form. Braintree support exists in LF forms now but would be nice to see how many have implemented it and what has been there experience.

Hi Sumeet,

You can signup to Braintree with a sandbox account. This will allow testing and demonstrations from LF Forms into Braintree's sandbox environment without buying it. They will provide you with sandbox api keys that you can input into Laserfiche for demo's. I can't comment exactly on user experience as I have only played around with it briefly.

Thanks, sandbox experience is great but want to know if anyone here is using braintree in their current setting and how it's working for them any gotchas or oops ?

We have Braintree to accept payment on one of our forms that was built by our VAR. I'm just looking at adding a second process that will accept payment so we haven't used it much.

1) we're in Canada and when it was put in place, Braintree was the only provider. I realized that was a risk when they came out with their first announcement about changes to their terms and conditions. If we don't agree to the changes, what do we do? We have to pull the online payment option.

2) I'm not sure how it'll be for our Finance department whenw e expand the use. It should be fairly easy to distinguish which payments are for which process because we are using it for dog licences currently which only cost $10 and $50 perfectly and the new process has neither of those costs but I'm just not aware where any hiccups might come in.

3) it is creating a small challenge now. Since our VAR created the first process with a payment option, I'm trying to figure out how to get it to integrate as we want it to and may need to go to the VAR if I can't figure it out.

Those are my pieces of feedback so far anyway.

Hi Ian,

I work with Emily and we've been successfully using it for at least 2 years now. We are still using on-prem Laserfiche, so I'm not sure if it works with the cloud if that's what you have/where you're going. 

Once set up, it's easy to integrate into any form process, so in that way it's great!
