word dotx document from laserfiche repository does not react like it was outside of laserfiche

I have a Customer that complain, when they open a office word dotx document, do some modification and close it, it save the dotx document in laserfiche in place to save it in docx as it was when opening a dotx outside of laserfiche.

 

is there a way or best practice of how to use it when the dotx is start from a laserfiche repository?

Hi Rene, we are looking at this problem at the moment as well, did you manage to get a solution to this,

we are even thinking in the line of creating a workflow that grabs a dotx file and the creates a new word doc based on it for the user to edit.

Just clicking on it in the repository and then word opening it as a new docx file would be much easier and more in line with how it works when clicking on a dotx in file explorer or using the new document dialog inside word

No, Word Template is not really supported in Laserfiche.

 

So I told to my Customer to create the Template as a normal word document and make sure no user can save or modified the document in the laserfiche folder where all the Normal Word templates are saved.

 

a user when they try to modify it and save it at the templates folder will not be able and will have to save it somewhere else in the repository
