Question

Can Quick Fields Agent start another session when a session ends

asked on September 14, 2017

We would like to cascade sessions withing Quick Fields because of of the issue with too many classification in one session.  Is there a way to set up QF Agent to start a new session once the previous session has completed?  Also is there a way to include report details in the email that is set once the Session has completed if there is an error?

Thanks,

Jessica

Is there an average run time on the first session?  For example, some of my sessions always have about the same number of files to process to they always from for about 15 minutes each time.

If there is a consistent run time, could you just moved the schedule to run closer together?  Or change multiple schedules to run closer.  For example if your run Session A and you want Session B to run right away, if Session A runs an average of 15 minute can you just set the schedule for Session B to run every 15 minutes?

It really varies on the day, so no.  That is why were were looking for a way to trigger the next session when the first one completed.

Where is Quick Fields pulling the files from?

One thing I have done is create two copies of the same session, but monitoring different folders, used WF to split the documents between two different folders, then ran the two sessions in parallel.

If you only have one kind of session in the agent, you could shorten the schedule, keep the single folder/source, but limit how many parallel sessions can run so at least one is almost always queued up.
