Question

Forms task returns to sender

asked on September 14, 2017

Hi.

I have a task un forms that populates a result table with data from a query. There are between 150 and 250 results from query.

For queries with 100 results or less the task works well.

I can open the task and clic on submit button and the task is completed, but after some seconds the task reappears in the inbox.

Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Carlos,

Can you post screenshots of the process diagram and Instance Monitoring for the instance in question?

Hi Rob.

I send the images.

I write the name to search in task "Captura", the seach is done in "Búsqueda SIBA" and the results are displayed at "Propuesta". I can approbe or reject the task.

Thank you.

Hi Carlos,

I am still a little unclear on exactly what's going on, but it sounds like:

  1. User submits some information in the 'Captura' step;
  2. Workflow pushes this information into a database in the 'Búsqueda SIBA' step;
  3. The information pushed into the database displays for the user in the 'Propuesta' step.

Is this correct? If so, I'm curious about a few things:

  1. Is it necessary for the information in the 'Captura' step to be pushed into a database?
  2. Either way, is there some reason why the Forms variable values (for example, the information captured in the 'Captura' step) cannot be used to display information in the 'Propuesta' step? That is, why do the values displayed in the 'Propuesta' step need to come from the database (since they should still be part of the instance)?
  3. Does the task in your Forms inbox have the same instance ID as the instance for which you clicked 'Submit' in the 'Propuesta' step?

I'm sorry that I can't offer more insight at this point, but it's probable a good idea to double-check the instance ID(s), check out Forms in the Event Viewer to see if there's anything useful there, and consider adjusting the layout of your process diagram so outflows are as direct as possible and there's as little "tangling" as possible (this always helps me when I'm troubleshooting a process).

Good luck!

~Rob

Hi Rob.

The input in "Captura" step is used to build the query in "Búsqueda SIBA". Then the supervisor role takes the "Propuesta" task And validate the retrieved information.

Yes, the ID of submited task is the same that the "new" task in inbox.

I will review event viewer details.

Thanks.
