Hello,
A customer is reporting that when attempting to create a new version of a file by importing into the Web Client by dragging/dropping or by clicking the import button or context menu option, they are not seeing the Name Conflict dialog, which they need to be able to add the document as a revision instead of as a new document with a sequential suffix. Looking into it on my end, all the documents that they are having trouble with are under version control, and in attempting to replicate the behavior, I am also not seeing the name conflict dialog for only these particular files, but am not having the problem with other files. For instance, even if make a copy one of the problem files within the system and then attempt to revise, I do get the name conflict dialog. In fact, I seem to be unable to make the name conflict dialog go away in the Web Client on any other files, as hard as I try (although I could not find a comparable setting in the Web Client options as is in the desktop Client options, I did find the [Settings]ImportConflictDialog_NonVersioned attribute via the Admin Console, for which I tried a few a few different options, only difference being whether Add as new Version or Rename was selected as default.)...
Incidentally, and maybe this is related, with the same problem files, attempting to import a new version directly via the Versions pane also fails due to an entry lock. One again, this problem does not occur on the copy, or any other files that I tested, just on the original. For what it's worth, this customer exclusively uses the Web Client and not the desktop Client, however I am having the same issue with the desktop client.
Can anyone offer an explanation of why these files don't want to revise? Seems like something is corrupt with the files themselves in some way, but I can't see anything obvious. For these particular files, I will most likely make a copy and swap them for the original. But for the future, I'd like to know if there is a way to avoid this, or if it is an anomaly that I shouldn't worry about too much.
Thanks!
Jesse
