Question

Types of barcodes Laserfiche forms reads

asked on September 11, 2017

Hi all,

Have been trying to find this online, but not have had no success, hence the query.

We have a client using inverted QR Codes and we were wondering if they can be read by Laserfiche forms? So when the user has the form open on their tablet, they can read the code to populate a field.

Initial client test indicates no, we have some samples if they are required to add to this query as well,

Thank you

Regards

These are the bar codes supported by the Forms Mobile app: Aztec, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, EAN13, EAN8, PDF417, QR, UPC-E as referenced in the release notes here.

This past Empower, we actually used QR codes in the Escape Room activity as well as a sort of inventory management system for lending USB drives to those who wanted a copy of the Empower VM. It worked well!

Hi Karina,

It looks like the barcode feature is not supported on Windows. But what's going on Android and iOS?

Actually, I created a form with a single field for my barcode. On Windows, I can't use the feature (and it's normal). But using my smartphone (Android Galaxy S7) I can't use this feature on my webbrowser too. I need to use the Laserfiche Mobile's app.

So, is it possible to use this feature with the web browser or only in the app?

The barcode feature I refer to above is in the Mobile app (supported on Windows, iOS, Android devices).

Do you have another way to use this feature without the app?

The code is below as a reference:

Thank you,

I have used a QR Scanner and it was able to be picked up, but not when using LF Forms,

Thank you,

Hi Ziad,

I'm trying to do the same. Do you find how to do?

Hi Oliver,

I asked the client not to invert the Barcodes when they were getting printed and that worked really well. I also did provide the client the list of readable barcodes and they used that for their other forms created.

With thanks,

Ziad
