Feature Request: A more robust "Save Draft" Interface for Public Anonymous Users

asked on September 8, 2017 Show version history

I have been working on, and just went live with, a long and complex form that is being submitted by the public.

I've already started to hear some grumblings about the save for draft feature.

If they save the draft, in order to save their progress on their from, they are logged out and have to log back in via email. In at least one case the user said they didn't receive their email right away, leaving them with the option to either start over again, or wait for the email to arrive to finish the original form.

We need the ability for the user to "save progress" without being logged out.

Hi Zane,

For public user submitting, after the user saves draft, there is a "Return to your draft" link on the thank you page. Clicking this link, the user would see a "Sign In" page which need the email address and password he previously entered. This page's link is the same as email's link so user does not need to wait for email at all.

I agree that it's reasonable to allow filling form without having to "Sign In" with email address and password after save draft. I have reported this as Forms feature request. Thanks.
