Question

Participants forcing Access Rights

asked on September 6, 2017

Good morning,

I'm having difficulties with my forms since we've gotten participants. Before we had participants, our forms were available to whoever we shared the link with.....however, now that we have participant licenses, it's forcing a login before allowing access to the form. Is there a way around this? Perhaps something I'm missing?

Thank you!

Cynthia

I think that would depend on how the form is configured (i.e., is it Public or Private). For example, any private form will require the user to be authenticated so their access rights can be verified.

Also, what type of authentication are you using for Forms? If you are using LFDS authentication, you can set it up to log Windows users in automatically.

I'm not sure what you mean by LFDS, which is quite embarassing. But we are on Avante, and had to purchase participant licenses to have them log in. I also can't see anywhere where it would give me a public or private option on my forms. :)

If you do not have Forms Portal, then you will not have the "Public" option, which means users will always need to be authenticated.

The next question, are you using Repository Users, LDAP, or Windows Accounts? Repository users would be a login name, LDAP would use email address, and Windows users would just use the same credentials as Windows.

Is there a difference between Forms Portal and Forms? Before we got the participant licenses, we had no issues with the forms being accessed by anyone.

As for the users, all 20 of our users sign in with a user name....but 10 of them are repository, and 10 are participant.

Forms Portal is an add-on license that allows public (anonymous) access to forms that are configured as "public"

If you had it before, and now you do not, then something might have happened with your licensing when you updated everything to add the Participant Licenses.

Alright, I double checked and we do have Forms Portal....so that must be it then. Thank you for your help!
