Question

Deny Printing & Export to specific folders

asked on August 29, 2017

I know it is not currently possible to restrict printing or exporting on specific folders and can only be set for users repository wide, which is either on or off.

My question is: Are there any future plans to allow this to be managed at folder level?

I have had this request by a user group and the only way we think we can do this is to create a separate repository for these documents which I would like to avoid due to our current 40+ repositories & due to document links ,etc.

thanks

Good morning Grant,

While it's true that 'Print' feature right is granted per user and throughout the repository, is it a possibility to deny read and/or browse rights on the relevant folders (ie, prevent printing by eliminating access)?

Alternatively, does this client have WebLink? If so, would it be viable to create an internal 'Public' user without the print right, that members of the client organization would have to use to access the documents in question?

These are definitely sub-optimal workarounds, but they're the best I can come up with off the top of my head.

Thanks Rob for the reply, but unfortunately that will not work for them.

No problem--I hope they're able to figure out something that works!

Hi, we have the same issue over here.

Users request access to confidential documents but they only need read-only access, but any user in the organization can request the access, so we cannot control in which group the user has access to print and export documents.

Did you get any solution for this issue?

Regards.
