Question

Full License Count - Application and User Licenses

asked on August 21, 2017

I'm trying to figure out our license allocation at our organization. I've run the Usage Report and can reconcile all licenses except one. The report states that under one of our organizations we have one Application 'Full License' in use, however I can't find any "repository user" from this organization under any of our existing repositories.

I've been able to reconcile all other users under "repository user" within the Admin Console and associated repositories, but I cannot find this one particular license. Would the license be listed anywhere else on LFDS or within Admin Console?

It sounds like that license been assigned to a Laserfiche server.

You can check where it's been assigned by going to the Applications tab and selecting the Laserfiche Server.

Allocating a full license to a server counts as "in use" regardless of whether the license has been granted yo a user because LFDS does not control or report on licenses assigned to repository users.

Since it sounds like you don't want to use this license for a repository user, you can edit the Laserfiche Server registration in LFDS and remove the license allocation.

Are you on Avante or Rio?

In Avante, you should be able to look at the full list of licenses in use under Named Users and Licenses in the Admin Console. In Rio you should be able to see the users allocated to each server in Licence/Directory Manager.

I would guess that you've got a license allocated to a workstation, like a workstation for scan operators. Which would consume a license, but you wouldn't see a user account associated with it.

We're on Rio. I can see all the users associated with full licenses in LFDS from both the user and organization views, but I can't figure out where this "Application License" would be. The only device we have setup is allocated to a different organization.

None of the users associated with the organization in question is listed as a Repository user within the Admin Console in any of the repositories.

Ah, that was it! I didn't realize you could drill down into the list. Thank you!
