I'm trying to work out the best way to import a list of approvals for documents already in Laserfiche. The documents in Laserfiche are scanned log reports that are stored in LF by log number. An Excel spreadsheet is provided to third party companies (without access to the Laserfiche system) to approve the logs. The requirement is to get the list of log numbers that have been approved on the spreadsheet, import them to Laserfiche, and use Workflow to mark the corresponding documents as approved.
One approach I'm thinking of would be to automate a scheduled import of an Excel list of approved log numbers into SQL, and have Workflow query the SQL table.
Is there a better approach than this?
