BP Metadata Requirement Warnings don't show in Web Client 10.2.1

asked on August 17, 2017

Hi,

I've just set up a Workflow and made it a Business Process. I've set the starting rule so that:

  1. Any user can start the BP
  2. The entry must reside in a specific folder ("Path starts with...")
  3. Certain fields on the template must be filled in ("Field is not empty"). I've also set a custom message to be shown when these metadata requirements are not met.

From the Windows Client this works fine. If I try to start the BP on a document that doesn't meet the metadata requirements I get this:

But from the web client no warning is displayed - the business process just doesn't start. I can see the server response gets returned to the web browser with the same message, but this isn't displayed anywhere for the user to see. The path validation warnings work fine.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a bug in Web Client 10.2.1?

Any info would be appreciated! laugh

Thanks, Dan

Interesting. Yes, I can reproduce that behavior. Bug reference #39577.

I'm seeing a warning:

So you'll probably want to get Tech Support to take a look.

Hi Miruna,

Thanks for your reply!

I've just tried something else after seeing your screenshot... as it looks as if you have gone into the "Show all business processes" dialog and started it from there. If I go into the actual dialog I get the same as you:

However if I add it as a favourite and start it directly from the context menu it doesn't display the warning (this is what I was doing previously - didn't even think to try it the other way)

Cheers, Dan
