In the forms designer screen, this is exactly what the bottom pane is for.  It allows you to specify how the Laserfiche search query is built, both from user input but also with additional clauses like a within folder search.  You may need to know the query syntax for the constraint you want to add, you can use Web Access or the desktop client to get that.
