Agenda Manager field font limitations

asked on August 9, 2017

Is there a limitation with Agenda Manager 9 with the way it writes field data when preparing the agenda?  I have tried changing the font for a field in the template to several different types and sizes and when the agenda is prepared, the field data is always written in the same font.  Notice in the screen shots where, in the template, the font is set to Ariel 14 in Bold but when the agenda is prepared, the data is written as Calibri(Body) 11 in a light gray color.  Sections are not affected, they appear as intended, only fields.  Is this by design or is there something wrong?

Using Agenda manager 9.0.2.241 with MS Word 2016

This is a known issue, SCR 131474 for your reference. There is a workaround however.

  1. When editing the template, right-click the control and choose "Properties".
  2. Check the box "Use a style to format text typed into the empty control". (Similar to what Brian recommended above.)
  3. Select an existing style or define a new one, as needs require.
  4. Save the style and properties configuration.
  5. Click inside the control template and type out new default text. Remove the existing one.
  6. Save changes to Agenda Manager Server from the ribbon menu.
  7. Prepare the agenda. The style settings should take hold.

In particular we've found that step 5 is necessary for the workaround. Simply applying a style to the control does not necessarily change the style formatting.

I've attached a video, am_font_edit.swf to this post with a demonstration of both defining a custom style and using the existing paragraph default style.

Hope this helps!

Brian and James, thank you for the information!  Using text styling, as you both suggested, resolved the issue.

Text styling information (like bold, and underline and also including fonts and text size) assigned directly into the tag is sometimes lost, I think Word sometimes saves it differently but doesn't make the distinction in the UI.  One trick is to use Word's Styles, like Normal, Heading 1, Heading 2.  You can define your own, and they can include the font to use.  For some reason, styling information applied this way doesn't get dropped the way the other method does.
