How to re-enable the scan mode selection - Switching between Basic and Standard

If the prompt to choose between Basic and Standard scanning modes has been disabled follow the steps below:

1.  In Laserfiche go to "Tools" then "Options".

2.  The "Options" dialog box will appear.  Click on "Reset".

3.  Choose "Prompts".

4.  Select "Scan Mode" from the list of Confirmations.

5.  Click OK.

Took me awhile to find this, so wanted to save someone else the time.

I ran into an issue where if you do this option and these option do not stick, then you can go into the Admin console > select the user or the Everyone group (if this is effecting everyone) > select the HiddenDialog attribute and remove the ScanMode.

This shouldn't be necessary if you follow the prompt setting above. That said, if you do need to do this for some reason, once the application has set it on a user (by doing the action through the client applications), that will always override the value on the Everyone group. Basically, the everyone group value is only relevant for initial defaults for new users who have not performed an action yet.

Hello,
For the life of me I could not remember how to reset the prompt to choose between scanning modes.   So I headed to Laserfiche Answers.....and guess what?

I had posted the answer to my 2021 question back in 2017.  I did not remember that I had done that.

I am at a completely different place of employment now, but wanted to say.....
