Question

How to add a new version?

asked on August 7, 2017 Show version history

Hi,

I'm trying to configure 1 of my users.

When I'm connected under "Admin", I can add a new document's version using drag and drop but under "User1" I cant.

From "User1", we have a new document.

Example :

1. Admin add document 1 then add document 1 (one more time) => document 1 (2 versions)

2. User1 add document 1 then add document 1 (one more time) => documant 1 + document 1 (2)

How can I change this?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

What are the Name Conflicts options for User1?  Under the Tools menu look for Options.  Under Options, choose New Documents, then Name Conflicts.  Are they set up to ask to rename, or to automatically rename?

Do they have rights to modify the existing document?

Hi Miruna,

This is the rights

1. Import

2. Search

3. Export

4. Edit version comments

5. Delete document versions

Sorry, I should've been clearer. I mean, entry access rights, not feature rights.

Hum... Miruna, I guess to make something wrong with the entry access rights.

I have 3 rules for the user1 (Wendy)

That's fine, but you'll want to look at the effective rights tab to see if the resulting rights on that document are what was intended for this user.

Hi Miruna,

I should make a clean on my rules first. I'll back to you asap.

Thank you for all.

Hi Miruna,

I change rules and now it's ok. My versions is working. I need to check "Write metadata" to activate the version.

Thank you for all.
