Question

Where is the Auditing node?

asked on August 7, 2017 Show version history

I am logged in as the ADMIN account and do not see the "Auditing" Node within the Administration Console. The ADMIN account has all Feature Rights and Privileges.

However, I do not see the Auditing Node.

I also logged into the admin console using a licensed Windows Account that has Admin Rights to the Repository and is considered a System Manager. I still was unable to see the "Auditing" Node.

It looks like based on the help files, the Auditing section was moved from Groups to its own Node in the Admin Console. See link to help files below:

https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/LFAdmin/Content/Audit_Log_Settings.htm#tabs-1

I checked both the Web Admin and Desktop Administration Console and was unable to find the Auditing Node.

I was able to setup a Custom View, but am only able to view the "Auditing" Settings.

I might just be missing something on my end. I would appreciate any help.

There are two parts to Audit Trail: auditing in the Laserfiche server and reporting in the Web Audit Reporter. The first one is turned on through the license and administration console. Reporting is a separate installation that does not require a license. This is by design, so if needed, customers can provide an auditor with the audit logs and the reporting application without having to connect to the Laserfiche Server.

Does the server license have an Audit Trail feature?

I will have to check. I thought Audit Trail Starter Edition went with every Avante / Rio license.

It looks like they do not have the license. My question then is why do you allow us to install Audit Trail when we do not have a license?
