Question

Multiple rules on a the same fields

asked on August 3, 2017

I have multiple conditions that can be true to show a field on a form which is requiring me to create multiple field rules.  (I have several "When ALL" conditions  that need to be considered) and it looks like only the last  rules is taken into account when multiple rules are setup on the same field.

Is this correct and if so any suggestions on how to do this? We are running FORM 10.2.

Thanks

Hi Ken,

It's correct that the last rule takes effect. When there are multiple rules on the same field, rules may be conflict with each other, so Forms would use the one that has the highest priority.

In your case, maybe you can simplify the field rules so one field has one field rule.

Hi Rui,

Just a follow up question.

I'm going to have to use JavaScript to show/hide the elements (form sections) since I have conflicting field rules and form will only use the one with the highest priority. I've tried using the standard .show() method using the class name of the section, and does not seem to work.

Do you happen to know how to achieve this with JavaScript?

Thanks,

Ken

Rui,

Never mind I got it. You can ignore my last question.

Thanks,

Ken

I'd be interested in learning how to use the JavaScript to show/hide elements. I ran into the same problem with the rule fields no matter which way I set them up.
