XML Profiles - How to populate the field File Name from the MFP using profile?

asked on July 28, 2017 Show version history

Hi All,

I'm using Laserfiche Connector for the first time and try the XML Profiles.

In the notice, I saw we can auto fill the "File Name", choose the "Folder Path", then choose the "Template Name".

Now in the MFP, we can choose the right profile then scans the documents.

But, with the profile, i can't populate myself the field "File Name".

I want to use profile then populate the field from the MFP and not from the XML.

How can I do?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Hi Olivier,

Do you mean Laserfiche Connector for MFP, or Scan action in Laserfiche Connector (which is desktop application)?

Hi Huazhen,

I'm not sure, but I suppose is really about the Laserfiche Connector for MFP.

The template below you have the void "fileName". That's means you write the fileName here. Something like that "Name %(GCount)".

I dont want to specify the name under the template, I want user populate this field.

Hi Olivier, thanks for the information. But I am afraid I cannot help you since I am unfamiliar with the product. I forwarded the question to the team, hopefully some of them can help you out.

Hi Olivier, thanks for bring out this usability issue. Based on the current design, once you are using the profile (xml), user won't be allow to change the file name. But it's a good enhancement we can consider in the future.

For now, you can use basic scan to allow end user customize anything they want, including file name.

Thanks again!
