Check Successful Email Received - Read Receipts

Is there any way when sending an email to have a read receipt sent back to the system to know there has been a successful delivery?

Read receipts are optional and rely on the receiving user to send them. In Workflow, you can have the email activity request a delivery receipt.

When enabled.  Are they sent back to the default email account used by workflow?

Or is there a way to customize which email address receives the acknowledgement back through workflow?

They're going back to the account specified in the mail server's configuration in Workflow.
