Question

Ctrl + D does not open New Document dialog box to split documents

asked on July 24, 2017

Hello,

When I click Ctrl + D in the Laserfiche entry window, I get the New Document dialog box which allows me to split my current document (e.g., in the event I want to split out pages).

I have a user who clicks Ctrl + D at the same window but for some reason does not get this New Document dialog box. Is this a setting?? How can I turn this on for my user?

Thanks,

Julie

Is this in Client?  In Web Access?  In an existing document?  In the scan module?

In the Client when looking at a document.

Is the document an imaged document?  If it is an electronic document such as a PDF or word document, you can't split out pages of it in Laserfiche.

If it is an imaged document, have you checked the Customize Keyboard dialog box to see if Ctrl+D got reassigned to something else?  You could use the same dialog box to set it up for the person missing it.

It looks just like that for the user... as if Ctrl+D should work (but it just doesn't pop up).

Are they trying to use Ctrl+D on a PDF, Word Document, Spreadsheet or other electronic document?  Ctrl+D doesn't work on electronic documents.  Are you both trying it on the exact same document?

Does the other user have rights to create new documents?  Do they have rights to move pages?  In admin console does the user/group have the feature right to move entry which includes the ability to move pages between documents.  On the folder and document do they have access rights to create new documents?

This is in the Client. We have the problem on a newly-scanned document or an existing. This is not an electronic document.

The user has all the rights needed (compared it to a user where it does work).

Thanks,

Julie
