Question

Upload Bulk data & integration with other sofrware

asked on July 20, 2017

I want to know laserfiche save the document into binary data (BLOB) or as a files.

If laserfiche working as binary data (BLOB) then how to performed integration with other software like Oracle ERP.

If laserfiche working as file system then how to upload thousands of files in one time.

Hi Mohamad,

Laserfiche does not store the documents as Blobs in the DB, it stores them in the windows file structure (Laserfiche Volumes) and references these through a path in the DB in the DBO.TOC table.

You can write an integration using the Laserfiche SDK for an import programme, or you can use Laserfiche Import Agent, Laserfiche Quick Fields or even the good old drag and drop into Laserfiche to do bulk importing of documents. It all depends on the exact scenario and what you are trying to achieve which will dictate what option you need to use. Your Laserfiche VAR should be able to offer more information around this and help with planning etc.

Hope this helps!

I'm sure there must be a way to export from Oracle into a format that Laserfiche understands, the complications here would be having the expertise on the Oracle API side. I haven't personally had to integrate or perform a migration from Oracle to Laserfiche, but there may be someone on here who has!
