Question

QuickBooks & Connector?

asked on July 20, 2017

Hi,

Has anyone had any success using the LF Connector with QuickBooks? I client has tried with no joy and I've tried it with the downloadable trial (QuickBooks Premier Trial 2017) but it doesn't seem to pick up the application and therefore can't locate any controls, even with the OCR option.

Versions of QuickBooks do appear on the externally verified list of applications that work with the Connector?

Thanks,

Nigel.

Hi Nigel,

"QuickBooks 12 Enterprise" has been confirmed externally; that is, by an end user not in our testing. And I think Laserfiche Connector should be able to pick up the application even if the controls could not located. Could you please open a support case to troubleshooting the issue? After the application can be picked up, we can confirm if QuickBooks Premier Trial works with Connector.

Hi,

It seems to depend on which screen you have open when testing the application, I did manage to get it to read some controls using different forms/screens.

I'll run some tests with the end user and see if we can extract what they need.

That's good news. Please let us know if you have figured out the issue on the end user machine, so that we can enhance Laserfiche Connector to make it more compatible. Thanks in advance.

Hi Nigel,

I wanted to see if you had any success with this.  I am currently trying to get Connector to work with Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2017 and having no success as the Connector only finds the main window and no others.

Example:

When using connector to push data into Create Invoices.  It only finds the main application window labeled 'Sample Rock Castle Construction - Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2017'

Did you find any solutions to get the Connector to find a secondary window such as the 'Create Invoices'?

I am having a similar issue with connector

Laserfiche Web Client is the Source and QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2018 is the target. I can only get one of my fields to populate in QuickBooks.

To update you John,

Since I have had the same success you've had with connector, I have been working on development with the QB SDK.  A lot of the tasks I need to accomplish need to be multiple entries at a time with data being loaded to child tables as well such as line items.

This type of looping I don't believe can be accomplished with LF Connector.  But if a Laserfiche Engineer could elaborate on that it would be best.
