Question

Auto - cropping of the National Identity Card document

asked on July 16, 2017 Show version history

Hi all,

I have a National Identity Card, which is of size (8.8 * 5.8 cm). Is it possible to perform an auto - crop of this document in Laserfiche Quick Fields Scanning? Also, whenever Quick Fields Laserfiche Scanning detects this document type, the size configuration is automatically set and the cropping is done.

Thanks to advise.

The best solution is to use a scanner with the auto crop feature.  This way, you do not need  to try to create rules in Quick Fields to crop it for you.

If the card is always in the same location on the page and on the same page count, you can potentially do it with Quick Fields, but it would be setting up a fixed crop that happens on page X for every batch you process through the session (very prone to error).

Hi Sheila,

Quickfields can crop a single location (such as a photo) from an ID card. If you want to crop two locations (such as a [hoto and signature) it become more tricky. Have you seen this thread?

Have you looked at your scanner settings? Some scanners can autodetect the paper size.

There may be scanners that does not have the autodetect. In case, there is no such settings, how do I set it in Laserfiche Scanning? Please advise.
