Auto-Update a Department Field

Hey everyone,

 

I'm just starting out in Forms and would like to get some advice on how to achieve this. I have figured out how to automatically fill out the name field on a Form based on the user who is currently signed in. However, I would also like for my Form to recognize which user is signed in, then auto-update the Department field based on who is logged in. How can I go about achieving this? Can you give me a guide or step-by-step instructions?

Hi Ryan,

How is the relationship between logged in user's username and department defined? If you have a database that keeps that data, you could use lookup rule to do that: 

First add datasource for the database that keeps the data, see help on https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/Forms/Content/Settings/Data-Sources.htm

Then add lookup rule with your database, see help https://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/Laserfiche/10/en-US/administration/#../Subsystems/Forms/Content/Lookup-Rules.htm
