Question

Disable form preview on CSS and Javascript page

asked on July 13, 2017

Is it possible to disable the automatic form preview on the right side of the CSS and Javascript page?

I have one form that due to lookups and field rules, takes 30-40 seconds to load.  Based on the purpose of this form, I don't mind it from the end-user perspective, and I've got it displaying a loading message.  I'm happy with that.

However, every time I want to make edits on the CSS and Javascript page - I have to wait 30-40 seconds before I can edit the code, and 30-40 seconds each time I save the code, because of the automatic preview on the right side of the page.

The "view preview" button meets my needs to testing, so I'd really like to have the option to disable the automatic preview on this page.

Is this possible?

If this is not currently possible, could an enhancement request be made?

Thank you!

This is currently not possible.

I have added it to Forms product backlog. Thanks for the feature request.

Thank you @████████!

Meanwhile, I moved a bunch of my Field Rules into my Javascript.  I left a few things under Field Rules since it dictates not only the hiding/showing of fields but also turning on/off the required status of fields that are being hidden, it was easier.  But any field that I was just using Field Rules to hide/show the field, I replaced with Javascript.  This cut my loading time by about 70%-80%, got it down to about 10 seconds.

Regardless, I still think having the ability to disable the auto-preview if desired is a really good idea.

Has there been any further development on this as it slows down work to constantly need to render the page on each update?
