Question

Restore File or Folder

asked on July 12, 2017

Hi

A quick question: If Version Tracking is not turned on, is there anyway of restoring a file or folder to a previous version? If so, how?

If Version Tracking has to be turned on for this to be an option, what are the ramifications? How much extra drive space is needed? Etc.

Thanks for your help?

Hi Rod,

I think there are ways to restore previous versions of files, but I do not think it's possible to do so from within the client without Version Tracking turned on for the relevant repo or entry.

Here are some links to other posts on the topic:

The first reply on this post:

explains that "Laserfiche volumes house images and electronic documents, and within the volumes new versions of a document are kept as separate files linked together based on references in the database", so assuming each version is the same size, you'd scale accord to the number of versions (ie, 2 versions = twice as much space required, etc.).
