Question

One user sees PDF bookmarks in Web Client 10 and another does not on the same file

asked on July 7, 2017 Show version history

Hello,

Trying to figure out why one user can see the bookmarks of a PDF and another cannot in Web Client 10. The red highlighted area is blank for the affected user.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

The PDF bookmarks show up if you are viewing the document through the PDF viewer in the document viewer. If you are viewing the generated image pages, they aren't available. Check under display options to see if view pdf is checked.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for replying. That doesn't seem to be the case this time for some reason. Please see the attached image of the same PDF opened in the PDF Viewer with a different user.

Thanks,

Brian

I was able to connect to the user's PC, and noted that her settings were set to download for both viewing options. Then, after opening a PDF I was able to see that it opened in the browser in the adobe reader viewer and not the Laserfiche PDF viewer. Once the settings were updated on the other user's machine it behaved as they expected, but it is interesting that the Laserfiche PDF viewer doesn't display the bookmarks. I'm running v10.2 and cannot find a bookmarks tab in the Laserfiche PDF viewer. Can you please confirm that it should be visible somewhere?

Thanks,

Brian

Hi,

Just want to revisit this.

I'm running v10.2 as well. Can bookmarks be displayed for PDFs when viewed int he Laserfiche viewer?

Thanks,

Howard
