Question

document shortcuts in document

asked on July 6, 2017

My client is interested to know if there is a way to provide an in-document shortcut to another document whether that be through a sticky note, or highlighted words, etc. They want to be able to open the document, and see a place inside of the document that they can click and open other documents from, similar to a hyperlink on a web page.

Is this possible in the LF document viewer?

They are on 10.2.1.953.

Hi Ricardo!

I couldn't figure out a way to insert a link from one document to another in the body of the first (via annotation or otherwise), but the client could always create a Document Relationship or Link Group between the first document and whatever other documents they want to open, etc., from with first. This method has the advantage of not requiring the user to open the document to activate the links--they can access the links directly from document's metadata.

A Link Group would allow the user to import new documents directly and add them to the same Link Group as the currently opened document, saving the user some time when importing documents into the repository.

Best,

Rob
