Generate Web Access URL

asked on July 2, 2017 Show version history

Hi,

I'm using Generate Web Access URLs activity to generate a link that prompts user for checking-out a Word Document as he/she tries to open it. The resulting URL format is as below.

http://FQSN/laserfiche/ElectronicFile.aspx?db=REPOSITORY&id=666810&mode=OfficePlugin-Checkout

This works in IE browser but fails to work in Chrome. In Chrome, it prompts for user credentials and then page stays blank.

Has anyone got any idea how to fix this?

The web client installer in my previous post should do an in-place upgrade that fixes the issue. To avoid interruptions, run the install during off hours.

Try enabling the chrome developer tools (F12) and check if there is anything logged in the "console" tab.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for responding, I found an error as attached below. Any ideas or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

Also, in IE no error was found and it still continues to work fine.

Thanks,

Adarsh

This bug is fixed in the latest version of the web client, which can be downloaded here (bug reference# SCR154811).

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your response.

Is there a patch that we can run on 10.2.0 version of the software to get it working? If upgrade is the only option, does it work with all other LF components still being in 10.2.0?

We are in the midst of a project, so upgrade would be distraction. Is there any other way to fix this issue?

Thanks,

Adarsh

Thanks for the answer Rob.

Just to double-check, we don't need to upgrade other components such as the LF service or LFDS in order to install the latest version of LF Web Access right?

Thanks,

Adarsh

Correct. 10.2.1 web client is fully compatible with the same components 10.2 is.
