Question

How to set a list of excluded file types to be uploaded into Forms?

asked on July 1, 2017

Hi All,

Forms has the option within the Forms to specify which files extensions are allowed:

Is there a way to set which extensions are not allowed to be uploaded? As that list is far smaller than having to type all the formats allowed? Than having which file types are allowed?

Thank you in advance,

Ziad

No, Forms only supports being able to list which extensions are allowed. What is your use case where the list of allowed extensions is significantly larger than the list of disallowed extensions?

Hi Jared,

The I.T company has provided me a list of extensions that are not allowed to be uploaded but everything else apart from that to be enabled.

Basically, the list of exclusions is very small compared to the file extensions allowed, and having to enter every type of document type allowed will be very long in this instance as compared to the excluded list which is about 20 or so.

Thanks Jared,

No updates, Forms can still only list extensions that are allowed. A list of allowed extensions is actually much more secure because you know what you are going to receive as opposed to a list of disallowed extensions where EVERYTHING else is permitted in.

Nonetheless, we can add this to our feature request list for consideration.
