Question

Print Document with Annotations

asked on June 29, 2017

I am trying to print a document to include a text box with further information from the web client.  Is there a way to do this or a setting I am missing?

I see. If you go to the Options page, under the Download tab, there is a checkbox to "Convert annotations into PDF annotations." Uncheck this option.

Laserfiche text boxes cannot convert to PDF annotations, and so the text box will not appear when this option is turned on.

Is the web client printing your document without the text box annotation, or does the Print action not appear at all for you?

If the latter, then it means you do not have the Print feature right. In the web client Management page (v10.2+) or in the desktop admin console, you need to enable the Print feature right for your user or group.

Note: you need the Manage Trustee Privileges in order to set feature rights or privileges.

We have the ability to print from the web client.  When the document is printed the text box I created does not print with it.

It seems like this option is a bit clunky and should only apply to Downloads.

We'll update the behavior in the next release so that all annotations are included when Printing from the web client. The current option will only affect Downloads. Apologies for any confusion or inconvenience.
