Question

Workflow "Could not find a part of the path ..." error

asked on June 28, 2017

I had been working in the Workflow Designer ( on the same system where workflow is installed ) and when I went to publish the latest changes the following error pops up.

I get the same popup when I try to open anything in the Designer now.
( I can open the Designer remotely and work as the same user, not too surprising)

The folder '8' in the path above does not exist.

Has anyone seen this error or know of a fix?

Workflow Designer Version 10.2.0.202

Thanks,

Andrew

I called our support on this problem and while we could not determine the root cause the fix was simply to create a new '8' folder in the path where it went missing.    Off and running again.

Hi,

I came across the same issue and as mentioned above, created a new folder "2" in my case and the issue was resolved. I would like to know why this occurred in the 1st place and is this the actual resolution.

Prior to that , i went about doing the entire exercise of uninstalling existing workflow and re-configuring everything from scratch including creating new workflow database and all the workflow related configurations. It dn't solve the issue thou.

I have a customer that is experiencing the exact same issue. Has there been any progress on a potential cause? I am having them test the suggested solution on creating the missing path.

Please create a new folder "2" in C:\Users\AppData\Temp and restart the workflow service.

We created the folder and got it working. I was just hoping that I could provide the customers IT with some details as to why this occurred.

Thank you

Following up on this issue:

The same problem continues to happen, seems to be daily.  Each day (Wed and Thr), I get the same failure when I try to start Workflow Designer.  The “2” folder that I created the day before is gone.  If I create it again, I can open Designer and get on with life.  So, not a major issue yet, but inconvenient and suggests that something is corrupt or at least buggy.

Is there a config or “.ini” entry or something where I can mod the TEMP pointer? Surely creating this folder daily is not the solution.

I'm also having this issue. Every day I have to recreate the "2" folder and everything works fine. Is there a fix for this?
