Question

Question

Lookup data is missing in subsequent tasks

asked on June 20, 2017

Good day,

We have a form that upon opening does a lookup to a SQL table and populates a table. The user has makes some decisions per line item and submits the form.

In some instances when the form reaches the next user, some data is missing. All the rows are there and some of the data is displayed but not all. It is not all instances.

The lookup is determined from 2 variables and I have ticked the Hide Auto Fill button. If I show the Auto Fill and click it, the data re-appears. There are no scripts running on this form apart from CSS.

It is the same form in each task. I have attached an example. In this example, the data is missing in the final rows. It is always the last couple of rows.

Regards

Ian

Hi Ian,

I was able to reproduce similiar issue in 10.2.1 when lookup filled read only fields: some data in the last few rows would not be submitted. Happens if the return result has repeat values.

Can you check if your issue is the same? That is, data are not submitted in the first step, instead of missing in subsequent tasks. You can check the data in the submitted form.

If it's the same issue, it should be fixed in the coming hotfix; thanks for reporting this and sorry for the inconvenience.

Good day Rui,

I will take off the read only option and let you know.

Thank you for the feedback,

Ian

Hi Ian,

Since we are preparing the hotfix release at this moment, can you double check if the lookup result contains duplicated values and those duplicated values get lost after submission? We want to confirm your issue is fixed in the hotfix. Thanks.

Good day Rui,

It's difficult to say. The entire rows themselves are not duplicated but certain values in the rows are. In the other words, there are no rows where every value will be the same but there might be some rows where the Day column is duplicated.

I can confirm that since I removed the read only, I have seen this issue happen again

Ian

The issue was that duplicated values (duplicated in a certain column) are removed, not rows, so that part makes sense.

But it is strange that you saw the issue happen again after remove read-only: did you remove read-only on the first submission form, or on the user task? Were the values there on the instance -> variables page after submit with not read-only fields? Remove read-only should let filled value submitted, but not submitted values could not appear on their own on user task form.

Apologies Rui, I meant to say I haven't seen the issue happen again.

Good day,

This update seems to have sorted out one issue and caused another. Now fields using SUM(Table.Column) data gives an error of Invalid Formula expression [ LFF 1000] when submitting if the field is Read Only.

If I remove the Read Only option, it submits.

Sorry for the new issue but I could not reproduce it on my server. Can you create a new post on the issue and describe the details? What kind of fields did you use? Was lookup rule involved? Thanks.

Thanks Rui.

I will create a new post as now more issues are happening
