"Cannot start laserfiche scanning"

My client is experiencing an issue where they can't open LFScanning, and an erro box comes up that says "Cannot start Laserfiche Scanning". There wasn't much in the event viewer, but we found this in the lfscanning error logs:

"System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800401E3): Operation unavailable (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800401E3 (MK_E_UNAVAILABLE))
   at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.GetActiveObject(Guid& rclsid, IntPtr reserved, Object& ppunk)
   at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.GetActiveObject(String progID)
   at Laserfiche.BatchProcessor.ConnectionManager.RegisterClientConnection(IConnectionFactory applicationFactory)"

 

We have tried repairing, completely uninstalling and reinstalling, and trying a different scan mode but it says the same thing.

They are on version 10.1.0.151

It just started a few days ago with no changes to the computer.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue with one of my users. Any help is greatly appreciated. 

 

*Update: I updated our user from 10.2 to 10.3 and that resolved the issue.

Does the same issue occur for any Windows account logged onto the machine or is this Windows Account specific? If this is Windows account specific, have this Windows user log onto a different scan station and see if the same issue occurs on that machine as well.

Hi,

We also experiencing the same error, our users' machine is running on windows 7. We tried to so an repair and reinstall. We ended getting a .NET  parser error we then  gave the users rights to the C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\machine.config file...

On the Laserfiche Scanning error we got the error below:

   at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.GetActiveObject(Guid& rclsid, IntPtr reserved, Object& ppunk)
   at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.GetActiveObject(String progID)
   at Laserfiche.BatchProcessor.ConnectionManager.RegisterClientConnection(IConnectionFactory applicationFactory)

 

The users version of LF is 10.2 (10.2.1.998)

The error in the attached document has nothing to do with Scanning. It's probably best that you contact your reseller and open a case with Tech Support.
