Question

Question

CMIS Licensing

SDK
asked on June 7, 2017

I have a client who would like an integration written against the CMIS API. If we were to move forward with the CMIS route, would the client also need to purchase the Laserfiche Toolkit? Or are VARs able to distribute the CMIS Gateway as part of the ISV Toolkit Licensing?

The CMIS Gateway is currently packaged with the Laserfiche SDK. The customers must purchase/license the SDK individually to use the CMIS Gateway.

It is a little too early to say for sure, but I expect a future version of the Laserfiche Server will include the CMIS Gateway for all customers. As we evaluate alternatives for packaging and distributing the CMIS Gateway in the future, we'd love to hear your recommendations.

Catherine, I'm looking for some additional information on the CMIS gateway.  You mentioned it possibly being packaged with the Laserfiche server in the future.  Have plans proceeded with this?  If so, is there a roadmap for this availability?

Any updates or input from Laserfiche on this? Marco, I'm a little unclear about your answer... If you as a VAR own the SDK already, can you distribute the CMIS gateway to your customers (the same way you can distribute your own programs built with the SDK, or distribute the Laserfiche SDK Runtime package)? Or does the customer need to be the one to purchase the SDK in order to use the gateway?

The CMIS Gateway is currently packaged with the Laserfiche SDK. The customers must purchase/license the SDK to use the CMIS Gateway.
