Question

System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x80072030): There is no such object on the server.

asked on June 5, 2017

Hi All,

Was just wondering what the following error is relating to?

System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x80072030): There is no such object on the server.

This is something I have found under Event Viewer > Laserfiche > Directory Service > Server > Operational Trace?

All accounts have been set up via LFDS.

System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x80072030): There is no such object on the server.

Hi, anybody have any new update on this issue? We are having a LFDS sync failed error message with v10.2.0.210 and this is the same error message that we are getting in the event viewer under Directory Service > Server > Operational Trace.

In my experience, this is an error that occurs when an AD group is removed from AD (or possibly name changed), but still present in LFDS identity providers   (Identity Providers > [your provider] > Rules)

There doesn't appear to be an automatic way to resolve this (LFDS v10.2.0.210) or determine which AD group is responsible for the error, so to resolve I have to go through the AD groups to find which one(s) no longer exist, compare that to what's listed in my LFDS ID rules, and delete accordingly until the rules are current with active AD groups.

Tyler,

Thank you for the input, it got us on the right track.

In our case, we had only moved the AD groups defined there to a different OU (all within the same directory) - it seems that LFDS could not find them after that. Re-adding the groups resolved the issue.

We had this same issue and found that there was 1 AD Group that had more users than the allocated license amount.

Hello, was a resolution ever found for this issue?

I have a customer getting this error as well. @████████ any update on this?

I can confirm, that when receiving this error, after removing and re-adding each group, the error went away. However I can't confirm it was due to OUs. I am not sure why this error is being thrown so often and why everything needs to be setup again in order to re-enable synchronizing.
