Question

Password has expired. When trying to login with Directory Account after upgrade to Laserfice Server 10.2.1

asked on June 5, 2017 Show version history

We just upgraded to Laserfiche Server 10.2.1 build 946.

Before upgrading we could login to the repository with Directory Accounts using the LF Client.

After the upgrade, any attempt to login with a directory account receives the following error.

Your password has expired.  You will need to change your password before accessing the repository.

Below is a list of things we have attempted to resolve this issue.

  • Resetting Passwords
  • Deleting/Recreating Accounts
  • Creating brand new accounts
  • Creating a new LF 10.2.1 Repository.
  • Re-installing Laserfiche Server 10.2.1

This seems like a bizarre issue, but can anyone confirm that 10.2.1 build 946 allows Directory Accounts to login through the client?

I was testing on LFDS 10.0.0.270, could you upgrade the LFDS and see if that has the same issue?

Hi Matthew,
Are all the LFDS users have the same problems? Could you check what's the password setting of the problematic users? It seems like the users are required to change their password because it reach the expiration date. The password setting can be found at two places on LFDS, one is at the account page, the other is at the setting page under password tab.

After you resetting the passwords, you should be able to login the repository using your new password.

I cannot reproduce the problem that you described. You may need to open a support case to troubleshoot further. What version of LFDS are you using?

Jason,

Thank you for trying it out. The version of Directory Server I am using is 10.0.0.222

Could you please let me know what version of Directory Server you are using?

It is odd because the issue is only present on LF Server 10.2, but if you have a different version of Directory Server than I do, I will upgrade to it and give it a shot.

Great, maybe it will work. I don't see anything specific in the release notes, but I am upgrading it now and will reply as soon as it completes.

Jason,

Thanks for taking the time to assist. Upgrading to the latest version of 10.0.0.270. (I am very surprised as this isn't even a minor version upgrade) resolved the issue. I appreciate the help!
