Laserfiche Answers in several languages

posted on June 2, 2017

Hi all,

I could see on laserfiche's website that there were several foreign people (Spanish, French ...)

I'm not understanding English very well (especially when it's technical), so I would like to know if LF could improve the Laserfiche Answer's concept then indicate the customer's language.

We could therefore answer him in English AND in his language (if of course we know his language).

What do you think?

Regards

Hi Olivier,

Thanks for the suggestion. Laserfiche Answer site currently supports English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Chinese (simplified and traditional), depending on the default language setting of your browser.

As far as the content of each post, I think questions/discussions in English would be readable by majority of the members on the site, so it's easier to get replies. Also more people can be benefit from the existing posts when they search for answers.

However, we do know some of our members are not English speaker. I think they can either ask the question in English (if comfortable with), then add a note saying reply in another language is preferred. Or asking the question in another language. Members whoever understand the language can reply, or it will be answered by Laserfiche stuff with the help of our colleagues, or some translation tools.

Regards,

Niqi

A good technique I've seen several times is to post both in your preferred language and English, and answer the same way.

If a person reading the post speaks a little of the other language, having both the English and original versions makes it easier to figure out confusing translations.

For example, I can read French, but I am not good at writing or speaking.

Par exemple, je peux lire le français, mais je ne peux pas parler ou écrire bien
