Question

import Agent configuration utility on a seperate machine

asked on June 1, 2017

I would like to have Import Agent on a backend server and put the Configuration utility on a users desktop.  This does not look to be possible in the current product.  Is this a feature that is on the "To do" list?  If not, can it be?

Hi Bert,

I put your request to our backlog, but we don't have any plan to release new version of Import Agent at this time.

For Import Agent 10, you are able to run configuration utility on a users desktop, edit, save profile which is an XML file and copy the file to the back-end server.

Thanks for the reply and the suggested workaround.  If I am not mistaken, you must install the Import Agent (with an activation Key) on the workstation, then deactivate it (so your key is available for your server), and disable the service to prevent it from trying to be run on the workstation.
