Question

Failed to modify the read-only search catalog

asked on May 31, 2017

Hello,

I have users who are seeing the following errors repeat. The verbage they are seeing is slightly different from another post that somewhat covers this error.

https://answers.laserfiche.com/questions/117309/Prop-tree-failed-to-get-record#117332

In regards to our specific error's, has anyone seen them before? Or are they also pointing to the text catalog being corrupt?

The errors are below:

<Event xmlns='http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event'><System><Provider Name='LFFTS'/><EventID Qualifiers='49152'>32951</EventID><Level>Error</Level><Task></Task><Keywords>Classic</Keywords><TimeCreated SystemTime='2017-05-31T14:57:58.000000000Z'/><EventRecordID>1095531</EventRecordID><Channel>Application</Channel><Computer>(ServerName)</Computer><Security/></System><EventData>Failed to modify the read-only search catalog ServerName</EventData></Event>

Thanks!

Something has caused the LFFTS catalog to corrupt and become marked as read only.  Open the Laserfiche Administration Console, go to the properties of Index, delete the search catalog, and then create the search catalog (click yes to re-index the whole repository).

If you have not already put your LFFTS into parallel IO, this would be the perfect time to do that and gain a boost to your search performance.
