Employee review of HR file

asked on May 18, 2017

I'm looking for suggestions on how to best give an employee access to Laserfiche to view their own HR file. Since most employees are not laserfiche users but HR needs to accommodate requests to view their file, I was thinking of creating a generic view only user who was limited to viewing one specific folder.  Into this folder we would create a shortcut to the actual employee's HR folder in the HR file hierarchy.

Using this method I think we'll run into folder and document access issues with the generic viewer not being able to access the original documents.

We also have a scenario with this as well where if the manager (also not a licensed user) wishes to view an employee's folder, not all documents (such as medical) should be visible by this user.

I'm just looking for the ways others have implemented similar solutions for employees to view their HR files which are in Laserfiche.

Laserfiche WebLink is a good option for publishing information for viewing. The staff can have secure access to their individual folders for viewing the content specific to their files.

Does the viewing of the file need to be done through the LF interface, or can a BP generate the documents in a single .pdf for viewing?

Does the employee need access for a long period or temporary period?  And should they have the ability to download their file or only view in the client (web or desktop) for a limited period of time?

The customer would like the user to be able to view within LF for a temporary period.  The user would not be a named user, but would be using a 'generic' LF user to access the web or desktop client.
