Question

Laserfiche Client and terminal services CPU usage

asked on May 17, 2017

My customer is using Laserfiche Client (10.2) through Terminal Services (Server 2012).  It has been operating OK for some time.  Client uses Laserfiche.OfficeMonitor.exe to connect to MS Office.  Each Client session starts a new instance of OfficeMonitor.  As you can see in the attached image, OfficeMonitor is using 12% for each instance.  Is this normal?

Recently it has been reported that the CPU usage of the terminal server has maxed out at 100%.  The OfficeMonitor instances have risen to 20 - 25% and the CPU usage has hit 100%.  This is not to say that OffcieMonitor caused this error, it is just that its usage has risen and I would like to know if this is normal?

If you are noticing that Laserfiche.OfficeMonitor.exe seems to be using more CPU than you'd expect then please find out the exact version of the file as well as what users may be doing in the system at that time.

Also, you can use procdump from KB 1012603 to obtain a memory hang dump of the process. Then you can work with your Laserfiche reseller to open a support case and provide us with that information.
